Global Sports Focus is an independent sports newsroom covering cricket, football, rugby, chess and hockey.
We publish match reports, transfers, tactics and long reads. Our aim is simple: give readers what happened and why it matters, without the padding that has come to define so much sports coverage.
What we cover
Five sections, and we would rather do five well than twelve badly. Cricket, football, rugby, chess and hockey. If a sport is not listed, it is because we do not have the expertise to cover it properly yet — not because we think it matters less.
How we work
Every story is reported, written and edited by a named member of the desk. We do not publish unattributed aggregation, and we do not publish a story we cannot stand behind if asked.
Where we make a mistake, we correct it. Corrections are noted on the story itself rather than quietly removed, because a reader who saw the original is entitled to know what changed.
Independence
Our editorial decisions are made by the editorial team. Commercial relationships do not buy coverage, and sponsored material is labelled as such wherever it appears.
